Bruce Hyland Visit

Tuesday 6 July - the Dragons were honoured to be trained by Sensei Bruce Hyland (6th Dan). Sensei Hyland was visiting the UK from Australia and was keen to see how the Dragons concept had translated to UK Students. Sensei Hyland pioneered Ishinryu Dragons in his Australian clubs and it was in 2009 when Lee Smith visited the Australian Dojo's and first saw how Ishinryu training could be adapted for younger students. With Sensei Hyland's permission and blessing Sensei Lee Smith opened the first Dragons Dojo in the UK at Collier Row last September.

Sensei Hyland was very impressed with the Collier Row students - a great honour for the club, instructors and students. At the end of the lesson Sensei Lee Smith presented Sensei Bruce Hyland with a framed photo as a memento of his time in the UK this summer. Dragon's student Thomas presented Sensei Hyland with an (adult sized) Ishinryu Dragon T-Shirt.
